Residents in Norden are launching a renewed fight against plans for a 24-hour garage operation at the junction of Edenfield Road, Bagsleat Moor Road and Calderwhaw Road.
The planning application, which was refused by Rochdale Council last year following heavy opposition from local residents and Councillors, but operators Rontec have now lodged an appeal against the decision which will now go to the Secretary of State.

The proposed plans will see the the garage forecourt and shop operating 24-hours a day, 7-days a week.
Many residents have already objected to the plans saying that the extended opening hours are neither needed nor in the best interest on the local community. Objections have included concerns about increased traffic to the already busy junction, floodlighting which will have to be used overnight, additional overnight noise and the prospect of increases in anti-social behaviour around and extending from the site.
One resident said: "It is just ridiculous, we are a small village, there is just no need for a 24-hour garage here. This is a residential area where many older people and families have homes in very close proximity to the garage, the noise of revving engines and car doors slamming is okay during the day but would be unacceptable throughout the night.
Another local resident said: "The site is already a magnet for anti-social behavior. Allowing the site to open 24-hours will make that problem significantly worse.
Speaking at the recent Norden Area Forum Local Councillor, Mike Holly said: "We are aware of the plans and have already objected to the extension. Myself and Councillor Gartside are meeting with planning officers to discuss the matter but we advise that anyone with any concerns to make a formal objection.
speaking at the same meeting Councillor Winkler added: "There are lots of valid planning reasons why this application is all wrong. There would be an immediate negative impact on the hundreds of people who live in the area around the site. Furthermore this a 24-hour operation here would open the floodgates for other businesses to apply for extended hours through the village, this could."
