United Utilities have issued a message thanking members of the public for their help in spotting leaks along the water supply network and helping them to save precious water.
In a message to customers the water giant said: "We're really grateful to all our customers who take the time to tell us about a leak they've seen. Every customers who act as a 'leak spotter' plays an important part in helping us find and fix problems."
They say that water leaks are not always as easy to locate and fix as it may seems but a process is in place to fix leaks and members of the public can view the progress of repairs using United Utilities leak tracking process.
If you spot a burst pipe or leak you can call the 'leakline' on 0800 330 033, fill in the leak form or let United Utilities know via web chat at their website: www.unitedutilities.com. You’ll be asked to give as much information as possible about the leak so that they can book it in for repair.
