Students from Norden have been amongst those to take top grades in this years A-level results. Young people from the village are reporting an outstanding crop of results including many As and A*s.
Local resident Jessica Morrell was amongst the top performers, exchanging two years of hard work for an A* in Biology, an A in PE (missing out on an A* by just 2 marks) and an A in Maths. Jessica said: "I would like to thank Rochdale Sixth Form College for the tremendous support they provided throughout the two years that I have spent there, which included the Maths teachers taking the trouble to make up practise papers for them to do in the lead up to the exams as this was the first year for the current exam formula and there was only a single exam provided by the examination board to practise."
Jessica will now be going to Nottingham University to study Physiotherapy the same University as her sister Rosie who graduated this year with a 2:1 in Nutrition and Food Sciences. It is a proud moment for Jessica's parents and I am sure that we all wish them the very best for the years ahead.
Congratulations to all our local students who have achieved some great results in both A-level and GCSEs this year, we are sure that we will see great things in the future from many of Norden's students of 2019.
